Jennifer Lopez is facing being dragged into former lover Sean Diddy Combs’ high-profile trafficking trial as prosecutors seek to use her statements as evidence from the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting that led to both stars getting arrested.
The star and her then-lover were at the Club New York in Manhattan on December 27, 1999, when gunfire broke out inside that venue.
The rapper was accused of firing weapons in the shootout that left three people seriously injured, including Natania Reuben, who was hit in the face but managed to survive.
Both stars were arrested regarding the incident, but Lopez wasn’t charged, and Combs was soon acquitted in that case.
Diddy’s lawyers are now said to be fighting to exclude the incident from evidence in the upcoming trial that is due to start in the middle of May, as per legal filings obtained by the Daily Mail.
Court documents filed during the month’s start revealed how the Bad Boy founder was also trying to exclude an infamous video of him beating up his former lover, Cassie Ventura, from the case, adding how there was no kind of authentication available to prove that it was true.
