The news is certainly a very dramatic filing that made heads turn on Friday afternoon when Trump’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit and throw out the guilty verdict made against him was denied.

More details shared on the matter included how it’s highly unlikely that he would be getting a jail term as the judge does plan on providing ‘unconditional discharge’.

This means Trump will not have to pay any fines or serve any kind of probation either. Before, he was facing up to four years in jail but that won’t be the case this time around.

Merchan also shared in his post how the most viable solution will be to ensure finality and also give him the chance to continue on with his appeal.

In May, the jury found him guilty of 34 counts of making false business records to disguise a massive $130K payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to ensure she remained silent before the 2016 presidential election about their affair that took place 18 years before.
