Donald and Melania Trump were seen going their separate ways on Saturday night when the first couple landed in New Jersey after their quick trip to Rome for Pope Francis’ funeral.
It was also the eve of her 55th birthday, where the first lady could be seen getting into her SUV at Newark Airport while the president boarded the Marine One to head to his Bedminster, NJ Golf Course.
But the couple did have a sweet airport goodbye before parting ways. Trump gave his partner a kiss on the cheek. He was seen walking towards his helicopter when he quickly stopped and went back to the first lady to give her a parting peck.
The While House didn’t specify why the duo split up in the first place. But Barron Trump who is the couple’s son, lives in New York City and Melania may have been headed there to spend her birthday evening.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump shared with the press how he and his wife would be celebrating her birthday aboard Air Force One.
An aide was seen getting off the jet with a massive bouquet of pink flowers and placing that inside the First Lady’s motorcade. The dessert also included a chocolate coin with an image of the First Lady printed across it.
