Celebrations are taking place in Ukraine in full swing as it was observed how the leading fast-food outlet from the US, McDonald’s, would soon be reopening its branches in Kyiv.
According to local media outlets, the popular eatery was forced to shut down after the Russian invasion took center stage in February. The devastating war’s impact took on many foreign franchises that had no choice but to shut down or close temporarily.
The news was not taken too well as many kids and adults adored the restaurant, but now that things have settled well in the war-torn nation, the news of its comeback or reopening has fans rejoicing in Ukraine again.
But we’re sure the news isn’t going to be taken too well by Russians who were beyond appalled to see the eatery shutdown not only one but every single one of its branches across the nation.
McDonald’s stated that due to how Russia was behaving, and the eatery did not support the war, it was left with no choice but to shut down operations for an unlimited time. The country’s economy was already in shambles, and seeing this news hit hard.
Therefore, on the final day of its closure, people waited tirelessly and endlessly in lines to grab one last chance at their favorite cheeseburgers and quarter-pounders, not to mention the ever-so-popular fries.
Many were sad and disappointed that due to the actions of their government, they were forced to pay the price of doing something they were against.
Moreover, Russians tried to come up with a copycat version of its ‘local’ McDonald’s, but that, too, failed miserably.
Hence, seeing their neighbor, Ukraine has the famous outlet reopened in Kyiv will send a strong message that the Ukrainians are a force to be reckoned with.
