A Ukrainian woman was hailed for her bravery after she confronted heavily armed Russian soldiers.
She yelled at the two soldiers: “What the f*** are you doing in our land?”
One of the embarrassed invaders tried to calm her, and when she walked away, she yelled: “You should put sunflower seeds in your pockets so that they will grow on Ukrainian land after you die.”
Her video went viral on TikTok where she was hailed for her courage, with one person writing: “The bravery is amazing! Thank you! We stand with you!”
Another said: “She should be woman of the year! Very brave.”
A third added: “She has got more about her than all the World’s leaders put together!”
Someone else commented: “That is actually a very poetical thing to say. I like her mind, the thought of sunflowers reaching up to the sun in summer after the battle has passed and only the flowers grow in place of the soldiers who died.”
This comes as protesters in Moscow showed their support for Ukraine by chanting ‘there is now war’ outside Pushkinskaya Metro station.
Demonstrations against Russian president Vladimir Putin broke out in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
Sharing a video of the protest on social media, Ukrainian government advisor Anton Herashchenko wrote on Facebook: “Ukrainians! Call, write to your friends and acquaintances in Russia – ask them to tell everyone that Russian soldiers are now dying in Ukraine – sons, brothers, fathers!”
Almost 1,400 people have been detained by Russian police at anti-war protests after Putin sent troops to invade Ukraine.
According to OVD-info, “more than 1,391 people have already been detained in 51 cities.”
More than 340 people have been detained in Saint Petersburg and over 700 people in Moscow.
Photos showed officers dragging people away from the protests, which are rare in the country.
A Russian protester, Marina Litvinovich, told Reuters that she had been detained by police.
She also wrote on Telegram: “I was detained on my way out of the house.”
