A Ukrainian driver taunted Russian soldiers after their tank broke down on its way to the capital.
The viral video shared on social media showed an encounter between Russian troops who are stranded at the side of the road outside Kyiv and a group of Ukrainians.
It starts with the driver slowing down as he nears the tank, which ran out of fuel.
The driver then rolled his window down and jokingly offered to tow them back to Russia, prompting laughter from everyone.
Ukrainian former journalist Victor Kovalenko and other social media users shared the exchange.
Kovalenko tweeted: “The Ukrainian driver talks to the Russians who run out of fuel on their way to Kyiv: “Vehicle broke? – Ni, waiting for diesel. -I can tug you back to Russia! – (Russians laugh) – Do you know where are you going? – No. What’s in the news? – Ukraine Wins. Your guys surrender.”
Fighting has been going on in and out of major Ukrainian cities as the capital’s defense ministry has so far recorded Russia’s losses at around 10 airplanes, 516 armored vehicles, 80 tanks, seven helicopters, and 2,800 soldiers.
Intelligence experts predicted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war with Ukraine appeared to be not going according to plan due to poor tactical training, overconfidence, and ‘shock’ at the strong resistance put up by Ukrainians.
Russia is said to have been shocked at the strength of Ukraine’s resistance, with the president calling an urgent meeting with his inner circle.
Estonia’s former defense chief Riho Terras has claimed that Russia’s war is no longer going to plan as it is running out of weapons and money.
“Russians didn’t have a tactical plan. The war costs $20 bln/day. There are rockets for 3-4 days at most, they use them sparingly. They lack weapons, the Tula and 2 Rotenberg plants can’t physically fulfil the orders for weapons. Rifles and ammo are the most they can do,” he wrote on Twitter.
He added: “Russia’s whole plan relies on panic – that the civilians and armed forces surrender and Zelensky flees.”
