U.
S. Vice President JD Vance has reportedly broken his silence after the Pope’s death, just hours after an awkward icy encounter.
The Pope passed away Easter Monday, just one day after meeting with Vance as he tried to make attempts to mend his rocky relationship with the leader of the Catholic Church.

The 88-year-old pontiff and Vance had a very icy exchange at the Vatican on Easter Sunday after Francis slammed Trump’s administration for their ill treatment of illegal migrants in the country.
It came just one day after Vance, who is an adult Catholic convert, appeared to have been snubbed by the pontiff and forced to meet with the Vatican’s secretary of state, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the foreign minister, Archbishop Pete Gallagher.

Vance expressed his condolences for the Pope in an emotional tribute, despite many condemning his actions. His meeting with the Pope was said to be brief and only lasted for a few minutes.
Both of them tangled sharply over the topic of migration and the Trump administration’s plans to deport migrants en masse. Francis made caring for migrants a hallmark of his papacy. The Pope offered the Catholic VP three big chocolate Easter Eggs for his three young kids, who didn’t attend, as well as a Vatican tie and rosaries.
