Vera Wang appeared as youthful as ever as she walked the red carpet and showed off her ageless appearance.
The 74-year-old fashion designer wore an all-black maxi skirt and bralette top on Thursday night as she attended the star-studded DKMS Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan.
During the event, the fashion icon showed off her toned midriff and wrinkle-free face as she spoke to DailyMail.com and revealed that she’s afraid of physical disabilities more than looks now that she’s older.
“I think what happens sometimes as you age… I’m more frightened about physical disabilities… not all this,” she admitted.
“I’m not totally preoccupied with how I look. I love my work, and I’m very passionate about my work, my friends, my daughters… I mean, I have a very full life.”
Elsewhere in the red carpet interview, Wang admitted she has no plans on retiring while saying she devoted her whole life to empowering women.
“I’ve devoted my whole life to dressing women and styling women. From my years at Vogue magazine, I was an editor for 17 years, to working for Ralph Lauren, designing for my own company, my whole life has been about empowering women,” she said.
The sighting comes shortly after the fashion legend revealed her secret to maintaining a youthful appearance was drinking vodka and avoiding direct sunlight.
“One of the things I am known to like to do is have a vodka cocktail. There’s no question about that, I do. I have a vodka at some point after five or six o’clock, towards seven,” she told People at the time.
Saying work has helped her keep her mind, body, and soul young, she added: “Work was my lifeline that kept me feeling relevant and challenged me over the years. I think the mind is more powerful than one could ever understand. The challenges that work and life present us is what keeps us going.”
