China plans to ban Hollywood films after saying it won’t accept the blackmail nature of America, after Trump’s high tariff threats against Beijing.

This would put more tariffs on American agricultural products such as soybeans, while blocking all American poultry from entering the country and banning the import of American movies into the nation as well.

American films grossed a massive $585 million in the country last year, which is nearly 3.5% of the country’s $17.7 billion box office and among the biggest share of foreign films.

A ban on US films would result in future releases such as Jurassic World: Rebirth and the Mission Impossible sequel losing out on millions of dollars in the Chinese market.

American President Trump explained yesterday how it would be imposing an additional 50% tax on China if Beijing doesn’t withdraw the retaliatory taxes on America, which China quickly called out as blackmail and drew bigger plans to ban some American imports in reply to that.

If Trump does plan on sticking to the additional 50% tariff on China unless it withdraws its retaliatory levies on America, the total new US duties on Chinese goods this year might go up to 104% by Wednesday.
