Germany’s Interior Ministry has issued a call for all schools to begin preparing for civil defense training while urging citizens to stockpile on necessary supplies, including food, water, and more essentials.
The shocking news was confirmed in a new statement to the local press outlet Handelsblatt that shared how German kids were taught how to respond in seriously volatile situations like the war.
A ministry representative explained how civil protection needs more focus and how schools need to remind all that the situation around the globe isn’t great right now, and anything can happen without prior warning.
The country’s Defense spokesperson shared how it’s called mandatory basic training in times of war and disaster, and it’s modelled on systems used in Finland. This has been busy preparing citizens for the possibility of a serious war with Putin’s Russia for so long.
Berlin says it’s ready and is now providing all schools and teachers with national crisis materials with assistance from the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance.
While technically education matters, some things are decided independently by every state. This is why Germany wants its citizens to be prepared ahead of time, with essential supplies lasting them at least 72 hours.
