A new debate has reportedly begun among western nations and their role in assisting Ukraine.
According to local media reports, countries feel the time has arrived to continue providing Ukraine with a greater supply of weapons to help ward off Russia from carrying out further conflict in the war-torn country.
The news comes as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly mentioned how the United Kingdom revealed that it would never leave Ukraine alone in the darkness of the war, as more calls were being made to help send out a massive supply of tanks too.
“Britain will never abandon its friends during this difficult time and we will do everything in our power to support them” the Prime Minister mentioned.
The United Kingdom has made it clear that it will do whatever it takes to deter Russia from engaging in further hostility as the migrant crisis worsens in Ukraine, leaving so many innocent citizens displaced.
Just recently, reports suggested how Russian forces have destructed 90% of the port city of Mariupol, leaving hundreds of thousands displaced as we speak.
The UK has also been very outspoken on how it plans to introduce a stricter regime of sanctions against Putin and his Russian government and past experience shows that what the UK says, it has done.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss felt the time had come to kick out Russian troops from Ukraine as they had no business there.
She even took the opportunity to boldly declare how the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv must be given a greater supply of weapons, in specific correspondence to the ‘type’ requested by Ukrainian President Zelensky.
But a major debate has arisen in this context where US President Biden fears the supply of more weapons, especially large tanks, could potentially throttle the key plan that was designed to only provide ‘defensive weapons’ to Ukraine. For this reason, he feels there is a risk of breaching the rules attached to this step.
