According to reports from local media outlets, the giant cargo plane was seen losing one of its 100 kg wheels during the incident, sparking fears regarding the fate of the flight.

The incident took place in Italy just a few minutes after take off from Taranto, as confirmed recently by local media outlets.

The 4 ft wheel fell down from the sky, covered in smoke, and bounded inside a vineyard that happened to be situated nearby.

The flight was stated to be heading to the US, Charleston in particular. And thankfully, it did manage to arrive without causing too much harm to the aircraft or anyone on board.

But it wouldn’t be wrong to call the incident worrying and a moment of extreme panic.

The loose wheel detaching off of a live aircraft was not something that many people were accustomed to seeing in today’s modern day and age. And that’s why a lot of people questioned if there was no check and balance kept on airplanes arriving and leaving airports because anything could have happened.

One worried commenter was seen mentioning how the incident is beyond shocking and that if something like this happened if hundreds on board, it could have resulted in a fatal disaster.
