Will Smith may have publicly issued an apology to comedian Chris Rock for slapping him on stage, but many movie insiders feel it has come too late.

 

The world was stunned when the actor chose to resort to violence when the comedian was seen joking about his wife’s shaved head.

So many members belonging to the Hollywood fraternity have condemned his actions, but a carefully written apology was sent out by the star, the next day. 

Now, after a day has passed since the public apology issuance through the star’s social media account, many feel it’s not good enough to save his Oscars dream. 

Moreover, critics were quick to bash Smith for his ‘crisis management style’ apology that said sorry to the comedian for striking him on live national television.

While the actor may be hoping that the calls of so many upon the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to have his award stripped would die down after the message, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Sources spoke about how crisis meetings had already begun, minutes after the slap took place in front of the world to witness in Los Angeles as so many from the industry tried hard to think of a solution about what to do.

Insider reports are now speaking about how the actor’s fate could be announced today as a number of Academy governors are expected to meet for the annual post-Oscars ceremony debrief.

Others spoke about how a final could potentially be reached in the month of May of this year and that’s when a full meeting would occur in May.

At the moment, the Academy is facing great pressure to crack down on the star as they formally review the incident that has many people referring to the act as inexcusable from all directions.
