A very emotional Meghan Markle was seen paying tribute to the Queen while wiping away her tears while arriving at St George’s Chapel for the Committal Service.
According to local media outlets, the Duchess of Sussex was dressed in a black cape gown and a pair of pear earrings that were gifted to her by the Queen. She matched her attire with a large black hat and a pair of heels.
But seeing Meghan Markle break down into tears was definitely a shocking event for many, as the camera’s lens captured a few other senior members of the royal family at St. George’s Chapel today.
The 41-year-old paid tribute to the monarch and could be seen in a very somber zone, unlike any other images we’ve seen of her recently.
The couple’s children were nowhere to be seen, and that’s when it was revealed by local media outlets that they were in the US, being looked after and cared for by their grandmother, Meghan’s mom.
Seeing the Duchess openly weeping in London and brushing away her tears from her cheeks went viral in seconds, turning into a massive debate online. While some called it a show of drama, others felt it was real, and she may have realized her mistakes later.
The mother of two chose to keep her hair tied into a stylish updo. The pearl earrings that she wore as a tribute were given by Her Majesty as a gift on her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
This was given right ahead of her first solo engagement with the monarch after her marriage.
She and Harry were seen being cheered by thousands waiting in line to pay a final farewell to the monarch. It appeared as if they were overjoyed to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex participate in the event.
