Jonah Hill really turned many heads when he went public with the amount he was paid for his role in the hit film, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
According to local media reports, the actor is finally breaking his silence as to why he did accept such a slim paycheck for the movie despite his character having such an imminent role in the movie.
The leading star of the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio was granted a mega $10 million for the performance as a sleazy stockbroker. And that just makes you wonder what the reason for the mega difference in actor payments could be and why Hill was ready to accept the ordeal without giving it a second thought.
Hill was DiCaprio’s co-star, after all, he did deserve a little more respect in the form of more cash, don’t you think? Well, there appears to be a very good reason behind the decision. And now, we’re shedding light on the whole matter.
While we still feel there’s nothing wrong with the $60,000 cheque, its’ quite small considering the magnitude of the film.
Sources claim it’s the lowest amount that could have ever been paid out to him.
The answer is that the actor felt that he really wished to work with director Martin Scorsese. And for that reason, he was more than happy to be paid that small amount, as long as he’d be given the chance.
This is not the first time that he has spoken in detail about the matter in public regarding movies and a minimum wage. Sometimes he feels things are not about the money but the learning attached and the experiences gained.
Still, we feel the amount is just too small to be true for a great actor of his calibre. He’s been proving his skills in several hit blockbuster movies and the team needed to take that into consideration.
Whatever the case may be, he’s still managed to win the hearts of plenty across the globe with this gesture. What do you think?
