A centenarian couldn’t stop smiling after the police stormed her birthday party and handcuffed her.
While most people hope to avoid run-ins with the police, 100-year-old Jean Bicketon from Victoria, Australia, was overjoyed when three officers crashed her birthday party at the Narracan Gardens Residential Aged Care home to arrest her.
As the elderly lady revealed, she wanted to cross being arrested off her bucket list for some time now because she was never stopped by police or had any infringement in her long life.
Deciding to surprise the dedicated woman, who worked as an army nurse and a nurse for decades, officers from Moe Police Station crashed her birthday party and put Bicketon in cuffs.
In photos taken at her birthday party, Jean is seen smiling while proudly holding onto the young officers who came to stage a mock arrest.
“I’ve never been arrested in my life,” the centenarian said in an interview with Daily Mail Australia after crossing arrest off her bucket list.
“I said to them I’ve never been drunk and I’ve never been arrested, never lost my driving license and never had an infringement.”
Jean also insisted that being handcuffed wasn’t that bad because the cuffs were surprisingly soft and too big for her small wrists.
“I was surprised they were quite soft. They were too big for me anyway,” she added.
The 100-year-old also thanked the police as she admitted that this was one of her best birthday experiences so far.
“Now these kinda arrests, we’re happy to make. Wishing Jean a wonderful 100th birthday!” Victoria Police wrote on their Facebook page.
