Olympic star Imane Khelif just showed the world a more glamorous side to her after a dramatic makeover.
The news comes after she received a major honor from the Algerian President for winning the women’s boxing championship at the Paris Olympics.
The 25-year-old fighter was in the middle of a serious and fierce gender eligibility dispute this summer after getting clearance to fight against women at the games this year.
This is even though she was banned from last year’s World Championships for failing a gender test.
The International Olympic Committee allowed her to compete in the French capital after severing ties with the IBA who declared her inelgibility to fight in the female category.
Hanging up her boxing gloves, the star looked beautiful with her hair and makeup done. It was much more feminine than what we’re all accustomed to seeing.
The fighter sealed the gold with a serious victory over China’s Yang Liu in the women’s 66kg event without losing a single round through the tournament.
Khelif’s rise to stardom carried on Thursday when she made her way to visit her country’s head of state who bestowed the rank of major upon her.
While the controversy surrounding her gender continues, Imane Khelif says she vows to work hard and block the negativity as she says this is the beginning of a great career ahead.
