Naming a child comes with a lot of thought and responsibility and that’s why many parents struggle with the daunting task of doing just that.
Recently, the list of the world’s worst baby names was published and it’s safe to say that many parents are not too happy or excited about the ordeal.
Well, if you happen to take a peek, there are some very ordinary names and that includes an array of those that many refer to as popular too.
Luckily, the parent community at Mumsnet is shedding light on names that it feels new parents need to steer clear from and as you can expect, the backlash that soon followed was not to be missed.
But what exactly were the names included? Well, we’ve listed them down for your convenience below! Don’t forget to SHARE with us in the comments section whether or not your name or your child’s name made it.
Interestingly, the list even specified the reasons why the names were included, not to mention how bizarre some of those reasons turned out to be. And yes, we agree that the suspense is killing us too so let’s get right into it.
Clearly, so many parents failed to hold back.
Mia:- Many felt that this stood for missing in action and hence shouldn’t be used as a baby’s name.
Lana:- When spelled in a backward direction, this word seems quite rude.
Grace:- Moms claimed that only a handful of accents could get this pronunciation right.
Fanny:- As you can imagine, this was on the list for some pretty obvious reasons.
Amelia:- One mother found the ‘me’ part of this name to be very whiney.
Graham:- Many felt that it was broken down to grey and ham which wasn’t very pleasing on the ears.
Alexa:- Now that is the name of a virtual assistant.
Flora:- Some stated that the name made them think of bacteria.
Mercedes:- As one parent pointed out, she’s a child and not a vehicle.
Luna:- This is because it’s more a pet name than anything else.
