Kim Kardashian and Kanye West limit their interaction and were spotted at opposite sides throughout their daughter’s birthday party.
Kimberly Noel Kardashian, 41, and Kanye Omari West, known as Ye, 44, got married on May 24, 2014, at Fort di Belvedere in Florence, Italy.
After 7 years of marriage, Kardashian officially filed for divorce on February 19, 2021.
In April 2021, they both agreed before the court that they would end their marriage due to “irreconcilable differences” and agreed to joint custody of their four children.Things initially got off the rock lately when rapper Ye allegedly been banned from their daughter Chicago’s birthday bash but was later photographed in the garden of Kylie’s Hidden Hills mansion, where the party was held. Ye took to Instagram Live to claim he hadn’t received an invite to the party before going on to attend, telling followers how “happy” he was.
Chicago, who turned four years old on January 15th, shared a joint birthday party with cousin Stormi Webster, who turns four on February 1st, over the weekend.
Though the report says that there was no “scene” between the divorcing couple, a source told The Sun that they kept their distance throughout the party.
A source familiar with the event discussed the situation saying: “Chicago and Stormi had their joint party at Kylie’s Hidden Hills house.”
“The event is designed to be a great family day which turned into something more drama with Kanye going on a public rant about not being invited. When Kanye finally got the address, he arrived like a speedball in a rental car around 1 pm, driving himself without any security,” he added.
Despite Ye’s frustration, a source said: “He seemed okay when he talked to the family and was in great spirits laughing and playing with Chicago, it seems he just wanted to be involved in her day and didn’t want to cause trouble.”
The source claims West and Kardashian stayed on “other ends of the garden” while the musician attended the party for just an hour. Ye reportedly chatted with Kris Jenner and other members of the Kardashian clan, however, snubbed the mother of his four children.
A video obtained by TMZ showed Ye driving around Los Angeles saying he was just wishing his daughter a happy birthday because he wasn’t allowed to know where her party was.
He also said: “It’s nothing legal. These are the kind of games being played. This is the kind of thing that has affected my health for the longest and I’m just not playing.”
“I’m being the best father the version of a father and I’m not finned let this happen. Chicago, Happy birthday. I love you and I’m just putting this online because I need y’all’s support,” he added.
He said that he attempted to call Kim, nannies, Khloe Kardashian as well as her baby daddy Tristan Thompson and he managed to get the address from rapper Travis Scott.
Ye explained in an Instagram Live: “I just saw everybody, Kris, Corey, and Kylie. Kylie let me in when I got to the spot because security stopped me once again when I got there.”
Meanwhile, another source told E! News: “Kanye was never not invited to the birthday party. Kim was under the impression he wanted to do his own celebration. She was fine about him coming to Kylie’s house and is happy the kids can see them together.”
The second insider also shared that: “Kim and Kanye are not on good terms right now. She’s really trying to keep the peace between them and for the sake of the kids,” adding that Kim “is being neutral towards Kanye and doesn’t want any drama.”
Kardashian and Jenner appeared to spare money to celebrate their daughter’s birthday, with an image from the event showing a pink bouncy castle and a balloon display which read “Stormi & Chicago”.
Kim and Ye share four children together including North, eight, Saint, six, Psalm, two, and the birthday girl Chicago, 4.
