Zac Efron has received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 36-year-old Hollywood stud was accompanied by his loyal friends and colleagues as he was inaugurated into the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.
The actor and former Disney star was joined by the likes of Jeremy Allen White and Miles Teller at the emotional unveiling which included a tribute to his friends and co-stars including the late Matthew Perry.
“I’ve been acting, singing and dancing for as long as I can remember, but never in my wildest dreams that I’d imagine I would be standing here today,” Zac said in his speech.
The High School Musical star went on to thank “dear friends, colleagues throughout the years, and lifelong fans who have been with me since day one.”
He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to his 17 Again co-star Matthew Perry who died tragically at the age of just 54 back in October.
“Collaborating with him and [director] Burr Steers was so much fun. It really did propel me and motivate me in so many ways. It really pushed me into the next chapter of my career. Thank you so much, Matthew, thinking about you a lot today,” the 36-year-old added.
Speaking out at the star-studded event was also Teller who branded his friend as “the first true superstar” of his generation.
“In our generation, Zac was and is the first true superstar. I’m so proud of you for the man that you’ve become,” he shared.
Before the ceremony kicked off, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez gushed over Efron’s achievements in the industry and revealed why they decided to reward the actor with a star of his own.
“We are thrilled to honor actor Zac Efron who began his career as a Disney alum and has reinvented himself as a leading man by playing a wide variety of great roles. What a way to end our year of star ceremonies with this very popular and gifted actor!” she said.
