At a very young age of 15, Nikita Pearl Waligwa lost her life after she lost her battle with cancer she was fighting with for 3 years now.
Death never comes easy and when a person dies at such a young age, it leaves everyone around them devastated.
Disney’s Queen of Katwe’s actress Nikita Pearl Waligwa received an all-clear from the tumor in the year 2017 but just in two years, the doctors in India diagnosed her with two tumors they termed aggressively.
The world is pouring tributes to the great soul she was with marking how she took the Disney world by a surprise and how she was filled with talent.
Nikita passed away in her tragedy on Saturday after her 3-year long battle.
She was first diagnosed with her tumor back in the year when her Smash Hit had come out.
The young actress started in a Disney movie that came out in 2016.
The movie was about a chess prodigy named Phiona Mutesi who was extremely under the poverty line and had come from slums in Uganda.
Nikita had played Gloria, a friend of Mutesi as both grew up together in Kampala’s Largest slum called Katwe.
The movie is the life story of a 9-year-old little girl who came out of a slum to seek the opportunity.
She played chess and even made her way to the internationals.
Elite actors like Lupita Nyong’o played Mutesi’s mother and had won an Oscar, and David Oyelowo had played Mutesi’s teacher.
The film was an incredible chance for budding young actors like Nikita to have the opportunity to work with the elites of Hollywood.
When Nikita was first diagnosed with her tumor in 2016, Disney had taken the responsibility and was paying the cost of the treatment.
