Joaqiun Phoneix, has been nominated for the 92nd Academy Award for his role in ‘Joker’ as Arthur.
He has been selected for the Academy Award program along with a few other stars as well like Adam Driver for ‘Marriage Story’, Jonathan Pryce for ‘The Two Popes’ Leonardo Di Caprio for ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Prior to getting nominated for this particular award, Phoneix has also been selected for the Golden Globe Award as the best actor and has also collected the Critics Choice Award last night.
This is first nomination for academy award in the past seven years.
The entire character of Phoneix is inspired from the unsuccessful comedian and clown Arthur Fleck after he turns into a psychopath after being rejected from the society. When asked to the actor, he replied that all the kudos goes to her mother since she has been his ultimate inspiration.
Despite facing several nominations for his mind-boggling performances in movies like ‘Gladiator’, ‘Walk the Line’ and the Master, Joaquin is expected to face a victory for the first time.
Joaquin has been portrayed here as a superficial image of Fleck. But, the entire crew as well as the audience is envisaging Phoneix to garner a better image than Fleck.
The film has already raked a huge sum in the box office amounting to $1 billion which is equals to £770 million. Both Todd Phillips the director of the movie and Hildur Guanodottir, the composer of the movie have been nominated for the Academy Award show as well.
Not only this, the entire crew of joker is pretty confident about the nomination for the film very soon as the best picture. The entire event will be taking place in Los Angles on 9th February, hence are just a few days away.
