Lately, Officer Rance Quinn of Kansas City Police Department has been feeling a lack of support from the community for the police officers.
He has been working as a police officer for over 20 years, but recently, there’s been a lot of anti-police type of activity going on around the community. “I know we’re unwanted but it makes us feel like we’re under-appreciated,” he said.

But not long ago, that all changed. As Officer Quinn having lunch with Captain George Sims at a Chili’s restaurant, a teenage girl came over to them. She dropped them a note on a napkin before she casually walked away.

The napkin read, “Thanks for keeping us safe.”
Touched by the message, Officer Quinn and Captain Sims tried to thank her but she was already gone. Since then, Officer Quinn has been carrying the napkin in his pocket all the time.
This casual act of kindness seems to have started a chain of good deeds.point 211 |
On the same day, another family at Chili’s approached them and gave them a gift card.point 78 | What’s more amazing is that the officers offered it to family in need! Another amazing encounter was with a mother and her 5-year-old deaf son, who has been dying to meet a police officer in real life! It’s like this day was a Christmas present for these officers.point 313 |
They had a great day at Chili’s with the people who support them — a real confidence booster! point 90 | 1

If they are ever able to track down the napkin girl, Officer Quinn wants her to know that “the message that you gave us was very powerful to us, and don’t ever change who you are and keep that with you through the rest of your life.”
