There are some stories that makes perfect sense logically but makes everyone wonder how it came to be.
That more than a 100 nudists tested positive for Covid-19 in a beautiful French resort is one of those stories.
The Cap d’Age resort in France is beloved by many as a beautiful resort by the Mediterranean. However, a string of beachgoers who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the recent days have brought great concern to the usually serene and calm community.
Those in charge of the resorts testified to the point that of the 35,000 and more guests who visit their parameters, the nudists are definitely the hardest to impose rules on. Not too surprisingly, many did not conform to social distancing rules this year as well.
As a result, the local media has reported how the nudists have contracted the virus at 4 times the rate for everyone else. From the refusal to maintain a proper and safe social distance to them obviously refusing to wear facial masks have contributed to the messy situation.
More worryingly, the nature of the virus means that those currently carrying the virus has a possibility of spreading it to the people in their hometowns. This already seems to be turning into reality as 50 beachgoers tested positive for Covid-19 after returning home.
Understandably, the French health officials have admitted that this is one of the worst case scenarios that may have happened. With more related cases expected to spike, officials have urged that the locals and visitors alike test for the virus before leaving the town.
Moreover, they added that anyone else who wishes to come visit the beautiful beaches seriously consider delaying their trips. The French are going through what seems to be the second wave of infections after the initial surge earlier this year.
On Sunday, France set a new daily record in the number of patients who tested positive for the virus since May. With nearly 5,000 new patients within a day, many worry that the situation may be spiraling out of control once again.
Already, the French situation is one of the worst in Europe – it is only behind the UK and Italy in terms of deaths caused by the global pandemic.
