In March, Joshua West was arrested from a hotel in Orange County, California who had violated his parole.
Police found illegal drugs and used needles in the hotel room. But, they found one more thing which they didn’t expect to find there.
It was a puppy.
The puppy was also under the influence of drugs.
Officers rescued the dog and named him – Bubba. They brought him to the Orange County Animal Care.
Bubba, who had tested positive for Meth and Heroin, recovered and is now preparing to go to a rescue.
Katie Ingram, director at the Orange County Animal Care said: “Bubba has adjusted very well and is one of the staff favorites.”
“Bubba is very social, and has multiple rescue groups waiting to take him when he is released.”
Officer Laurich, who brought Bubba to Animal Control, visited him last week.
Bubba immediately recognized him and was thrilled to meet the officer.
Their reunion video was shared on the Facebook page of Tustin Police Department with the caption:
‘We have received many requests asking about Bubba who was taken into custody in March due to drugs in his system. Today we visited Orange County Animal Care and reunited Bubba with Officer Laurich. Officer Laurich is the original officer who took Bubba into custody.’
‘Bubba looked very healthy and happy and both he and Officer Laurich seemed to thoroughly enjoy their time together. Per Assistant Director Katie Ingram, Bubba has adjusted very well and is one of the staff favorites.
She also said Bubba is very social and has multiple rescue groups waiting to take him when he is released. Bubba is estimated to be 5-6 months old. We loved seeing Bubba today and hope you enjoy our Bubba update’
