Officers Shared Picture Of George Floyd With Disturbing Caption Ahead Of Valentine’s Day

Police officers are facing an investigation after allegedly sharing a photo of George Floyd along with the caption ‘You take my breath away’.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, an investigation into the matter has been launched after an unnamed officer stepped forward and claimed a captioned photo of George Floyd was getting passed on among the members of law enforcement.

While LAPD Chief Michel Moore admitted he hadn’t seen the offensive image and caption, he vowed to get more details out of the cop who reported it and get to the bottom of the matter through an investigation.

“Our investigation is to determine the accuracy of the allegations while also reinforcing our zero tolerance for anything with racist views,” the police chief confirmed as he vowed to act with “wrath” if the allegations prove to be true.

In an official statement, the LAPD wrote:

“The Department has become aware of allegations that an image was being passed around the department and this image was in the workplace. There are also allegations that the post with the image was authored by a department employee.

“A personnel complaint has been initiated and we are pursuing each allegation including interviewing the department member who brought it to our attention.

“At this point the Department has not identified any actual postings in the workplace or identified that it was in fact our department employee who created the image. We have raised the apparent existence of the image and directed commands to survey the worksites for it.”

Concluding the statement, the police force promised to react with “zero tolerance for this type of behavior” if the captioned photo of George Floyd really was shared by police officers.
