A mother can go to any extent to fulfill the needs of her kids. Even if she has to go through the most difficult path for it, a mother would never hesitate to take it.

Kelley did the same so that she could send her daughters to suburban schools. She submitted fake residency report to let her kids in a better school.

Rather than using her own address she used her father’s address for the residential status claim. The jury, therefore, found her guilty.

Although she was only sentenced in jail for 9 days, the woman is going to be on prohibition for 2 years and she also has to give 80 hours of community service. It has not been finalized yet but there is a threat to her teaching license too which is the way she earns.

According to NPR, the judge was in favor of the woman because there was no previous record of her being involved in any such activity. The judge himself has requested the State Department of Education for not canceling her license stating the same.

The case has highlighted and made this a steaming matter throughout the nation where a single mother was just making efforts in order to arrange better education for her daughters. Kelley being black, this case also has a racial indication to it.

There is nothing new in lying about the residential proof because there are thousands of parents who do it on a regular basis but the only, in this case, was that all those parents do not end up in jail.

It happened because Kelley fought for her kids to stay in school, unlike other parents who took their kids out as soon as they were confronted by state officers.
