A curious thing about celebrities is that everyone who’s a fan hangs on everything you say or do. The bigger the celebrity, the more people are affected and even those who just know you exist tends to take notice of your life. Anything associated with the celebrity takes on added importance, whether it’s a shoe or piece of clothing once worn, or a favorite restaurant, or a favorite type of pet.

In a way, it shouldn’t be surprising since even ordinary people tend to have keepsakes of departed family members as a way to remind them of happier times or to inspire them to work towards what the person they idolized deemed important.

Even before she married Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was already a well-known celebrity. But when she became the Duchess of Sussex, anything that was associated with her tends to come with added scrutiny. And one of the houses Meghan used to live in Los Angeles going on sale is one of them.

Meghan has been a long-time Los Angeles native, living in several neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley. During her marriage to producer Trevor Engelson, the couple rented a few houses in other parts of L.A., including an old two-story colonial house located in the Hancock Park neighborhood.

It turns out that this house has been put up for sale for $1.8 million and in a roundabout way, you could see it as the closest that one can get to royalty without going to Britain.

The four-bedroom house was built in 1924 and its 2,262-square-foot area includes an open floor plan, outdoor dining area, hardwood floors, and a two-car garage, according to Homes.com. The well-lit kitchen epitomizes Meghan’s aesthetic taste that was once featured in her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Per the New York Observer, soon after Meghan got her role on Suits, she and Engleson rented the house.

While Meghan is now well-established in Britain, her mother, Doria Ragland, still calls California home. The Sun actually reported in May that Meghan and Harry were thinking of getting another home in L.A. A source said at the time, “Ultimately, she is a California girl and can breathe easier there. Hollywood is in her DNA and I think it is where she has always wanted to keep a solid footing.”

It would certainly fit certain nostalgic notions for the royal couple to buy Meghan’s old house but that’s unlikely to happen as she more than anyone may not want to associate herself with anything that’s connected to her previous marriage.
