32-year-old Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin tragically died last year while he was spearfishing in the month of July. But now, his widow is fighting back all her tears, as she opens a new chapter in her life by welcoming the couple’s beautiful daughter.
The exciting news was shared via an emotional and beautiful post through Instagram on Wednesday, leaving many in tears.
Ellidy fell pregnant via an IVF procedure, right after the olympian’s death. She went on to reveal how her beloved husband would have been so proud to cradle his firstborn child in his arms.
The baby girl’s name is Minnie Alex Pullin and it carries special meaning as it’s a little homage to her father, she revealed.
“Our little girl was born on the 25th of October, 2021,” Ellidy mentioned while sharing an image of herself looking at her baby while she slept peacefully.
Both relatives and friends flocked to her home in the Gold Coast on Thursday, bringing along plenty of gifts to celebrate the beautiful occasion. Now, the mother faces the immensely difficult task of raising her little child alone after Chumpy reportedly drowned during his spearfishing journey last year.
Among the many visitors, there was a renowned reporter from Seven News too named Denham Hitchcock who made a breakthrough documentary relating to Ellidy’s Journey. He documented how she lost her olympian husband and then mustered the strength to carry the couple’s baby and give birth alone.
The emotional documentary is all set to be aired on Sunday night, reports confirmed.
An array of cameras followed the famed journalist inside the home, as he entered with a giant bouquet of flowers and camera crew members to record this joyful occasion.
The guests arrived just moments before Ellidy opted to make the announcement public for the first time via the emotional video post.
