A woman named Darci Miller visited the Indianapolis Zoo with her fiance, Jason Costello.
Darci, who was recovering from her 12th surgery, suffered massive burns all over her upper body after she tried to light a fire a couple of years ago.
When she visited the Zoo, her scars were visible.
An orangutan named Rocky saw Darci and her scars and couldn’t stop himself from talking to her.
A heartwarming video shows Rocky trying to interact with Darci in the Indiana ZOO in Putnam County.
He kept looking at Darci’s burn scars as if he understands her pain and asked her to remove the bandages. They silently chatted for more than 20 minutes.
Her fiance Jason can be heard saying in the video: “He wants you to show him. That’s crazy. He wants to see it.”
Later, Darci said: “I would love to give him a hug. He really made my day, and he really made me see that compassion goes further than just human beings.”
The heartwarming video was shared online and left everyone teary-eyed. People praised the orangutan for his kindness.
