While Nick was more used to handling reptiles during his years as a zookeeper, he has gone viral after adopting an orphaned wombat whose mother was killed in a car accident.

After Boo the Wombat was left with no one to care for her, Nick took her in and provided her with a loving home.

“Our family are big animal lovers, when Boo was orphaned, we got the correct permits to keep her and have hand raised her ever since,” he explained.

“Today she visits schools and kindergartens teaching people about the importance of Australian wildlife. What Boo really wants for Christmas is for people all over the world to watch out for wildlife as they travel around this Christmas, so no other animals are orphaned like she was. She would also like some extra carrots.”

Not only do Boo and Nick travel around the country to raise awareness about the native species but the TV presenter even took the wombat to see Santa and sit in his lap.

Speaking of his organization, Nick added:

“Wicked Wildlife is a mobile display, like a wildlife park on wheels. We take native Australian animals such as venomous snakes, possums, pythons, lizards, crocodiles and of course Boo to schools and events all over Victoria and South Australia teaching people about wildlife.
