An angry bride is in for a massive backlash after revealing she called off her wedding when her guests refused to shoulder her expenses.
Susan, a woman believed to be from the US, has been branded bridezilla after opening up about her canceled nuptials and saying she expected her guests to shoulder her expenses.
According to the lady in question, she and her partner had been together since they were just 14. After turning 20, they welcomed a child together and began planning their dream wedding.
While their event would cost them $60,000, the couple only managed to save up $15,000 for the event. Instead of changing their plans to make the wedding fit the budget, Susan decided to demand that each of her guests contributes at least $1,500 in cash to attend her “exclusive wedding.”
Her dreams came crashing down, however, after just eight guests offered to pay such a large sum to attend her big day.
“We’d sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1,500. We talked to a few people who even promised us more to make our dream come true,” the bride wrote in her Facebook post.
“My maid of honor pledged $5,000 along with her planning services. We tearfully thanked and accepted. My ex’s family offered to contribute $3,000. We made it clear, if you couldn’t contribute, you weren’t invited to our exclusive wedding. It’s a once in a lifetime party.”
The furious bride continued: “How was this supposed to happen without a little help from our friends? To make matters worse my ex’s family took back their offer. Suddenly more people backed out, INCLUDING THE C*** MAID OF HONOR. MY BEST FRIEND SINCE CHILDHOOD. MY SECOND FAMILY.”
Infuriated by people’s decision not to pay for her wedding, Susan then went on to launch a fundraiser on GoFundMe only to receive just $250 in donations.
“I just wanted to be a Kardashian for a day and then live my life like normal,” she added.
“I need to get away from this awful society. How hard would it have been to f***ing donate friends? Do I matter to you? Friendly reminder, don’t think you own me. I am cutting all of you snakes off. I am living my life alone now.”
After her rant went viral, Susan was quickly slammed by hundreds of people who called her entitled, self-centered, and selfish.
“It’s nobody else’s job to make your dreams come true. If you can’t afford a big wedding cut down the expenses instead of expecting others to pay for you,” someone wrote.
“What kind of human expects others to pay for their own wedding?” another pondered.
