In a one-on-one conversation with actor Danny DeVito, the Terminator star offered his perspective on what he believes happens after we’re gone.

“It reminds me of Howard Stern’s question to me. ‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?’ I said, ‘Nothing. You’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f***ing liar,’” he expressed.

Schwarzenegger, who is viewed as ‘a man of the people,’ went on and said that nobody knows what happens with a person’s soul but “I know that the body was we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that.”

He also admitted that speaking about death can be uncomfortable as he shared his doubts about the concept of heaven.

“When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone. That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t,” he expressed.

The actor said that for him, heaven is where he puts a person he loves dearly, who is generous, kind, and made a difference in other people’s lives.

“I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you have of all of your friends. And you always have a good feeling when you think of them,” the 76-year-old actor said.

In a 2021 interview, the actor opened up about his Catholic upbringing and shared how he ‘delved into the Bible and absorbed the teachings of my catechisms.’

“From those early days, there’s a phrase that still resonates with me today: ‘a servant’s heart.’ It signifies the act of serving a cause greater than oneself,” he said in a video shared on YouTube.

The actor made those remarks while calling on elected public servants: “What we need right now from our elected representatives is a public servant’s heart.

“We need public servants that serve something larger than their own power or their own party. We need public servants who will serve higher ideals, the ideals in which this country was founded, the ideals that other countries look up to.”
