August Alsina reportedly watched Chris Rock’s special ‘Selective Outrage’ on Netflix and thought the comedian’s jokes about Will and Jada Smith were ‘truthful and funny’.
It was in 2020 when Alsina made headlines after it was revealed that he and Jada had an affair.
During an episode of Red Table Talk, Jada talked about the ‘entanglement’ and told Will that she started the relationship with the rapper while she and her husband were ‘separated amicably.’
“We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy,” Jada said at that time.
“From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”
In a 2020 interview with The Breakfast Club, Alsina claimed that Will had approved of the relationship before it started.
“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism,” he told Angela Yee.
“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life and I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her,” the rapper added.
Now, Chris Rock used the ‘entanglement’ as ammunition against the family during his special and said that ‘he didn’t have any’ himself.
“His wife was f****** her son’s friend,” Rock expressed. “Now, I normally would not talk about this s***. But for some reason [they] put that s*** on the internet… We [have] all been cheated on. Everybody in here’s been cheated on.
“None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television.”
Rock went on: “She hurt him way more than he hurt me, OK? Everybody in the world called him a b****,” Rock said of the actor.
“Everybody. Everybody. And who’s he hit? Me. A n**** he know he could beat. That is some b****-a** s***.”
According to a source, Alsina enjoyed the Netflix special and was totally fine about the remarks.
The insider told the New York Post: “August watched the Netflix special and he laughed. He thought it was not only funny but truthful. That was the best part for him.”
