A baby was born while holding onto his mom’s IUD after the woman got pregnant while on birth control.
As 20-year-old Violet Quick from Idaho revealed, she was on birth control when she and her husband, 19-year-old John Francis, found out that she was pregnant.
Since the young lady had an IUD, the couple was left in shock after the news of pregnancy just a year into their marriage.
Now, the couple welcomed their baby son into their family only to be in for another major shock.
As baby Rudy cried into this world, he was defiantly clutching his mom’s IUD in his hand, Violet claimed.
“So I had my Skyla IUD for nine months before I got pregnant and the reason that I decided to take a test was because I was feeling nauseous for about two weeks and I would just throw up every once in a while,” the 20-year-old recalled.
“I didn’t know what was going on and so I took a test and it was positive right away.”
Violet continued: “I would say if you are having any of those signs of pregnancy or if your period is late to take a test.
“It’s better to know because there is a high risk of having ectopic pregnancies when you have an IUD, but they work for the most part, someone has to be the .01 percent and that’s me and my baby.”
While IUD remains one of the most effective birth control methods currently available, the device may still result in pregnancy when misplaced or when slipping out of place.
As Violet claims, however, the IUD was still in the right place at the time she found out she was pregnant.
Her video quickly went viral on social media where mothers with similar experiences shared their support for the new mom.
“Watching this with my IUD baby asleep in my arms,” one user wrote.
“Seven weeks with my IUD baby, got the IUD removed but it happened while it was in,” another said.
