A baker has come under fire after complaining about a customer who called her out over her “disgusting” and “expensive” cake.
Kylie Allen from Princeton, West Virginia, is a baker and owner of Kylie Kakes who recently took to TikTok to brand one of her customers as the “worst client” after the latter complained about the cake she had to pay $84 for.
In her viral post, the baker named the customer as Ashleigh Freeman and went on to reveal that the woman ordered a cake for her mother’s birthday back in April.
While Ashleigh paid the agreed amount to Kylie, she couldn’t help but share her disappointment with the baker only for Kylie to fight back and insist there was nothing wrong with her creation.
Here’s the cake that Kylie baked for Ashleigh:
Unimpressed by the cake, Ashleigh initially tried to resolve the issue directly with the baker via private messages. After the baker repeatedly hit back and maintained her innocence, however, the enraged woman took to Facebook to bash her business.
That’s when Kylie hit back at her customer with her own TikTok video that has since gone viral and put the baker in the hot seat.
“Today I had one of the worst client experiences I’ve ever had since opening the storefront,” Kylie insisted in the video that has since been viewed five million times.
“Upon arrival, she seemed to be really surprised the cake was covered in sprinkles. We explained to her that all of our signature rainbow cakes are decorated this way and covered in sprinkles.
“She then got super defensive and very rude about the price of the cake… She even bashed us and put us on her Facebook page.”
This, however, was not the end of the dispute. Unconvinced by Kylie’s comments, Ashleigh decided to bake a cake of her own to prove that despite her lack of experience she could make a prettier cake than Kylie.
And here’s the result:
The question remains, who do you think made a better cake – Kylie or Ashleigh? And would you pay $84 for Kylie’s creation?
As it happens, Kylie’s rant turned in Ashleigh’s favor, whereas the majority of people slammed the baker and insisted that her cake looked “ugly” and “unprofessional.”
“As a business owner, I am shocked by this! It’s super important to admit when you’re wrong!” someone wrote.
“I’d be so embarrassed to claim that work,” another said.
A third suggested: “I could’ve done a better job than that and for $20.”
