JUST IN: ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Star Kate Micucci Shares Heartbreaking Update After Being Diagnosed With Lung Cancer


The Big Bang Theory star Kate Micucci has shared an update about her health after being diagnosed with lung cancer despite never having smoked.

The 43-year-old took to TikTok and told her followers that she underwent a surgery after it was caught early.

“Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok it’s a sick-Tok. I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday, they caught it really early,” she said in the viral video.

Kate, who played Lucy – the love interest of Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) on The Big Bang Theory, continued: “It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so it was a surprise but also, I guess it happens.”

She also said that the greatest news is that lung cancer was caught early and doctors managed to get it out.

“I’m all good,” she went on. “But it’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it.”

She also shared a video of her walking around the hospital while pushing her drip stand.

Concerned fans were quick to flood her comments section, with many asking the actress what signs and symptoms she had experienced.

One fan asked: “What made you go in to get it checked out? was it a general check up? or was there symptoms?”

Kate replied: “I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high. So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and That’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”

Others sent well-wishes for her fast recovery, with one person commenting: “OM Goodness I’m so very happy to hear that it was caught early and you are doing well. Get better and stronger, please. The world needs you.”
