A 16-year-old boy has gone viral on social media after he wore a sequined tuxedo jacket and a red ballgown skirt to prom.
Korben’s fashion style became a hit after his mom, Nina Green, posted photos of his outfit on Twitter to show her support.
Staff at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Norfolk and his classmates were impressed when he stepped out in his shimmering outfit.
“At age 12, my son announced he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown. Four years later we made it happen.,” the proud mother captioned her post.
“I’m so incredibly proud of him for being true to himself and the reception he got from his whole school was incredible.”
Mrs. Green even tagged RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and asked for her opinion.
The star replied: “Ohhhhhhhh yes! You are an amazing, beautiful mom and your child is a STAR.”
Many people praised Korben’s outfit, with one commenting: “I must say that your son is stunningly beautiful in that red dress and a crown of glory. One of the best prom gowns I’ve ever seen.”
Another wrote: “He looks stunning, his gown is amazing and I love his crown too. Hope he had a wonderful prom.”
A third said: “Happiness. That’s what life should be all about. Being happy. Making dreams a reality. Being yourself because that’s the best way to be. These photos are joyous.”
Mrs. Green was overwhelmed by the positive reaction her post received. “Wow! When I posted images of my son being true to himself I never expected it to get the response it has.
“The support and positivity has been overwhelming and have totally drowned out the few negative ones, which we take no notice of. It’s his life and I’m letting him live it.”
