Bradley Cooper was unrecognizable as he completely transformed himself as composer Leonard Bernstein for the upcoming biopic about his life.
The 47-year-old actor, who stars and directs the project, looked exactly like the Broadway artist who created popular shows like West Side Story.
The Netflix film will also feature Matt Bomer, Carey Mulligan, and Maya Hawke.
The Oscar-nominee embodied the vibe and appearance of Bernstein in the photos from the biopic about his life.
It was almost impossible to know that the white-hard, bespectacled and tanned man smoking a cigarette in the images was actually Cooper.
In the new images, Cooper can be seen wearing eyeglasses and a white button-down as he worked on composing iconic scores, his face aged and wrinkled.
Other photos show Cooper as the Broadway icon from his younger years. Black and white photos show the actor with Carey Mulligan, who plays Bernstein’s wife Felicia.
Maya Hawke is playing Jamie Bernstein, the daughter of Leonard and Felicia.
The movie, which is directed and co-written by Cooper, also details Felicia and Leonard’s complex romance, which spanned over 30 years.
Leonard Bernstein, who worked as a conductor, composer, and pianist, was honored throughout his career with 16 Grammy Awards, seven Emmy Awards, and two Tony Awards.
He passed away five days after retiring from conducting in 1990.
The film will be Bradley’s second feature in the director’s chair after his remake of A Star is Born.
In an interview with Variety, Cooper said: “(I (told Spielberg), ‘I always felt like I could play a conductor, but may I research the material and see if I can write it and direct it? Would you let me do that?’”
He continued: “Steven has a lot of interests — he’ll just choose one thing and all of the other things will be on hold.
“I think he knew he wasn’t going to make that movie for a while. He was kind enough to hand it off to me, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last four and a half years.”
