A bride has shared the mortifying moment her dad’s pants fell down while he was walking her down the aisle.
36-year-old Sarah Grundman-Connors took to TikTok and shared the awkward moment from her wedding at The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ.
She said in her viral clip: “Make sure whoever is walking you down the aisle is wearing suspenders for this one reason.”
Sarah then played a video of her 74-year-old dad, Leonard Grundman, walking her down the aisle.
In an interview with PEOPLE, she said: “He told me that he was losing his pants.
“I squeezed his hand and said, ‘Hold them up with your right hand, we are almost there,’ and before we knew it, they were on the floor.”
The bride also said that the photographer managed to capture the unforgettable moment.
Sarah explained that her father had rented the suit for her wedding but two weeks before the ceremony, he had fallen ill and lost weight.
“A lot of the times when you rent a suit, there are no belt loops,” she said.
“My dad has actually never been a suspenders guy, but the pants had loops and fasteners on each side that you could pull and tighten.”
When the officiant, her brother, saw the wardrobe malfunction, a silent exchange of shock happened between them.
“The only thing I recall going through my mind at the time was praying that my dad’s underwear were clean,” Sarah recalled.
As soon as her dad pulled up his pants, everyone laughed and cheered.
“I raised my flowers to signal we were okay and continued our walk,” Sarah added.
The bride now wants to emphasize the importance of finding joy in unexpected moments.
“Life is too short, and I really wanted my wedding day to be laid back and really fun. I think that was one of the best ways it could have started to keep that theme going,” she added.
