A bride was left fuming when she saw a photo of ‘professional’ two-tiered cake made for her big day.
The woman took to Reddit and explained that her mother ‘pressured’ her into ordering a cake from her friend who she described as a professional baker.
But after seeing the ‘crumbling atrocity’ that her mother’s friend made, she was left devastated.
She then found out that her mother’s pal only baked as a hobby but her mother still defended the poorly iced cake.
“My mum pressured me to get my cake made by her friend, who is apparently a professional baker. They just sent me this photo of the trial. Suffice to say it’s not what I ordered,” the woman wrote.
“I managed to get my mum to admit that her friend isn’t really a professional – this is literally boxed cake mix and premade icing. She thinks it’ll look fine when we add flowers,” she expressed.
Her mother confessed that her friend had only baked cakes for her grandchildren.
The cake disaster is just one of the issues the bride had to deal with as her big day drew near.
She had to make alterations to her wedding down last minute and her dad just got into an accident and may not be able to attend the wedding.
In addition, wedding decorations did not arrive on time and her ‘anti-vax aunties’ threatened to gatecrash.
“I just got word that the smoking ceremony/welcome to country I had planned for the morning of my wedding will have to be cancelled or shifted to another, less personally special location, because someone decided to dump asbestos in the creek,” she added.
“I’ve had to call off plans and update relatives with an ever changing itinerary, but this has truly destroyed me.”
