Bruce Willis’ daughter has left fans in tears after she shared a heartbreaking but loving video with her dad.
Scout Larue Willis, 32, took to Instagram and shared a touching video with her father, who announced his retirement from acting last year after revealing that he had been struggling with aphasia – a brain condition that affects comprehension and speech.
In February this year, Willis’ family revealed that the Die Hard actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Many of the actor’s family members, including his wife Emma Heming Willis and daughters Tallulah, Rumer, and Scout LaRue, have spoken out about how they are all learning to live with Bruce’s condition.
The family got together to celebrate Thanksgiving, with Emma posting a photo of the family. “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love,” she wrote. “Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.”
Scout LaRue, daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore, also shared a heartwarming video on Instagram Stories.
The video showed her sitting with her dad while he was holding her hand. She also shared a picture of her resting her head in her father’s hand.
Most fans found her posts ‘painful’ and expressed how difficult it was to see the actor looking so different.
One person commented: “His daughter is showing that as heartbreaking as dementia is, there are still happy moments together as a family. He is still alive.”
Another said: “It’s extremely sad but it should be shared, it shows their support but also spreads awareness.”
A third added: “Sharing this journey with such a well-known respected man will demystify and educate.
It is not something to be ‘kept secret behind closed doors’ it’s part of so many (people’s) lives, there is nothing degrading about showing the demise in this disease, the only thing degrading is the appalling attitude of some folk.
