Bruce Willis’ family have been spending as much time with him after he was diagnosed with dementia.
His wife, Emma Heming Willis, shares more details on the actor’s condition on Instagram. After expressing their gratitude, she wrote: “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”
She said that the difficulties with communication are just one symptom that her husband faces.
Heming Willis continued: “While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.
“Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately.”
The 45-year-old has been keeping fans updated on Willis’ condition via social media.
On December 6, an insider told Us Weekly that after the actor was diagnosed, his loved ones ‘came together to keep his memory of the family intact.’
“They’re all there all the time,” the source said. “This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him.”
The insider also shared that Willis is having ‘more bad days than god’ over the past few months.
Another source said that the actor always has at least one family member with him, which includes his wife and his daughters Tallulah, 29, Scout, 32, and Rumer, 35.
Heming Willis recently posted on social media as the family celebrated Thanksgiving together.
She captioned her post: “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.”
