Buzz Aldrin, a former astronaut, engineer and fighter pilot, got married for the fourth time as he celebrated his 93rd birthday.
He famously landed on the moon with Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969, and on July 21, engraving their names into history books as they took their first steps on the surface of the moon.
It was in 1971 when he retired from NASA after logging 289 hours and 53 minutes in space.
Aldrin married his first wife, Joann Ann Archer, in 1954 but they separated in 1974.
He then married Beverly Van Zile in 1975 before their divorce in 1978. Ten years later, he tied the knot with his third wife Lois Driggs Cannon in 1988 before their split in 2012.
As he celebrated his 93rd birthday, he has gotten married for the fourth time.
The 93-year-old took to Twitter shared photos of himself and his bride Dr. Anca Faur, 63, and wrote: “On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot.”
He continued: “We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers.”
According to the Daily Mail, Dr. Faur was Buzz’s longtime girlfriend.
She is also listed as the Executive Vice President of Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC.
For their wedding day, Buzz wore a black suit that he adorned with various pins while Dr. Faur donned a white bridal gown she decorated with rhinestones.
Aldrin, the second person to walk on the moon, served as the Lunar Module Eagle pilot during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
He is the only surviving astronaut of the three that took part in the ship.
