Crystal Hefner has shared details about her marriage to the late Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner and revealed that she was never truly in love with her husband.
It was in 2012 when Crystal and Hugh tied the knot. She was 26 and Hefner was 86 when they got married.
Crystal, who is set to release her book, Only Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, previously shared that there was no ‘true love’ in their marriage.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Crystal revealed: “I thought, ‘Wow, if I just like everything that he likes and do all the things that he wants me to do, then I’m the favorite.’ And I was, but I just lost myself in the process.”
Her version of the story during her time in the Playboy Mansion is far from its glamorous appearance on TV.
She claimed that the mansion was falling apart and that it felt ‘kind of run down and gross after a while.’
Multiple parties as well as the lack of maintenance contributed to the deteriorating condition of the mansion, Crystal expressed.
During the interview, she also spoke about her late husband’s allegedly controlling behavior towards the women in the mansion.
Crystal claimed that she would bleach her hair and suffer from scalp burns just to follow Hefner’s rules.
She describes the Playboy Mansion as a world of fantasy and success. But “there’s a price. Everything has a price,” she added.
After they tied the knot, she became Hefner’s caregiver in his final years. She admitted that even though she loves him, she was never ‘in love’ with Hefner.
