Dolly Parton has left fans stunned after she took to Instagram and shared a photo of her real hair.
The Jolene hitmaker became renowned not only for her incredible voice but also for her spectacular hairstyles that managed to defy the laws of gravity.
For years, the 74-year-old relied on wigs to maintain her trademark appearance but she has shocked her fans after sharing a photo of her real hair.
In the black and white photo, which was taken around 1965, she can be seen wearing a classic white sweater while in a recording booth after she signed to Monument Records.
She had her blonde, mid-length hair swept back, and fans can’t believe how different she appeared without her wigs.
One fan commented: “Her hair was so pretty, I can understand maybe wearing a wig later in (her) career but I loved her hair in her earlier days.”
Another reacted: “Dolly Parton looks very pretty even without a big wig. I’m guessing that she uses it for her trademark after all these years. She is very pretty with or without her big hair.”
A third said: “Wow Dolly! I absolutely love your natural hair! You are beyond gorgeous!”
In a 2019 interview with Elle, Parton opened up about her appearance when she removes her blonde wig.
“I don’t always wear [wigs] in my daily life, but I always still pouf up my hair,” she expressed.
“I still like to have that flashy hair. When I’m around home, I wear my little scrunchies, but I always put on some makeup and fix my own hair as cute as I can fix it. Wigs are just so handy. I’m so busy, and I have so many choices. I never have a bad hair day, and that’s a good thing.”
