Former US President Donald Trump has spoken out after Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance on Sunday night and said it was ‘epic fail’.
The singer performed a medley of her greatest songs, including Diamonds, Work, Run This Town, Only Girl in the World, and Rude Boy.
She donned a red bustier and a matching jumpsuit that displayed her baby bump.
During the performance, Rihanna announced that she was expecting her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky.
But after leaving the stage, some people were not impressed and one of them was former President Donald Trump.
Taking to Truth Social – his own social media platform – he slammed the singer’s performance and wrote: “EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history.”
Trump went on: “This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language.”
According to the Independent, the ‘foul and insulting language’ the 76-year-old was referring to was a reference to a picture taken in August 2020 in which the Umbrella hitmaker posed in front of a piece of art that featured a vehicle with the words ‘F*** Trump.’
The former president concluded his post with: “Also, so much for her ‘Stylist!’”
Many social media users have also taken to social media about her performance, with one person complaining: “I can’t believe I spent 90 minutes fake watching sports I don’t understand nor care about, only for Rihanna to lip sync all her songs and deliver the most anticlimactic halftime show since Coldplay.”
Another said: “Rihanna has never been much of a performer, compared to the Beyoncés of the world, but this is honestly far worse than I expected it to be. No stagecraft. No interesting outfits. No choreography. This is easily the worst halftime show of all time.”
