‘Was I Wrong For Canceling Daughter’s Birthday Party After She Made One Of Her Classmates Sick’

A father has sought advice on the internet after his daughter called him a bad dad for canceling her birthday party.

The dad in question took to Reddit to reveal that he and his teenage daughter had been planning her 16th birthday bash until the party was canceled abruptly over an incident at the school.

As the man explained, he agreed to let his ‘unpredictable’ and ‘unruly’ daughter hold a big party after her behavior began improving. However, the plans took a U-turn when the girl snuck a bottle of alcohol into her school and drank the contents with her classmates.

After drinking too much booze, one of the students fell ill and had to see a school nurse, prompting the school officials to call the father about the incident.

Reacting to this news, the girl confronted her dad and called him a terrible father. And while her comments definitely left an ache, the father decided to “set boundaries” and insist on not letting the party go through as planned.

“She got very upset and started screaming at me that I was the worst father in the world. She stormed up to her room and slammed the door,” the dad wrote.

After asking Reddit readers for advice, the man received plenty of support with people urging him to stand his ground and not let his daughter’s comments get to him.
