A greedy mother has been slammed on social media after selfishly emptying an entire bowl of Halloween candy outside a country star’s home.
The Texas mother in question was caught on door camera raiding a huge bowl of candies left unsupervised outside musician Cody Tate’s house together with her family members.
In the shocking footage, at least three adults are seen grabbing as many candies as they can and placing them in their bags as their children help them in the act.
Meanwhile, one male can be seen returning to the bowl to make sure they’ve looted the place clean before taking off.
The act was caught on a Nest camera and shared on the internet by Tate.
“And this is why you can’t trust people. If you know who it is share. I figured it would happen but not adults. Now all the kids after these people can’t have any candy,” he wrote as he shared the footage.
Many viewers followed suit in voicing their frustration over the rude and selfish family.
“It doesn’t matter who they are, where they came or what their nationality. What matters is the horrible example they are teaching their children of greed and selfishness,” someone wrote.
“To me it’s a wake up call to teach by example. Kindness, compassion and politeness needs be taught more than ever in today’s world! Let’s all do a little better.”
“And those kids are going to grow up to be just like those adults, or worse. Sad,” another said.
A third fumed: “Unbelievable. No care for the children who will come after them and find it empty.”
Fortunately, there is still good in the world. As seen in another video that Tate posted hours later, one local man named only as Scott noticed the empty Halloween bowl and decided to refill it with candies of his own.
