The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey has left fans shocked with her announcement that she and her partner DDG just welcomed a baby boy.
This comes after DDG, whose Christian name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, denied on New Year’s Eve that he secretly had a daughter.
Speculations have been swirling for months that the couple were expecting a baby. This weekend, the 23-year-old actress revealed that she gave birth to a boy named Halo.
Halle shared the heartwarming news on Instagram with a photo showing her holding her baby’s tiny hand.
Her baby can be seen wearing a gold bracelet with his name Halo engraved on it.
The actress captioned her post: “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.”
She added: “Welcome to the world my halo. The world is desperate to know you.”
On New Year’s Eve, DDG responded to a fan who asked: “Do you have a daughter?”
He said ‘No’ and expressed his confusion that Halle and his fans were ‘so invested in what I got going on or what we got going on.’
“Like, bro, mind your business. Like, go outside, touch some grass, bro,” he added.
Pregnancy rumors spiraled out of control in October last year when Halle was seen sporting a noticeably baggy hoodie while out with her partner in Santa Monica.
Speculations grew when Halle hit back at claims she had a ‘pregnancy nose.’
She said at that time: “If I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s gonna be h*ll to pay. And you know why? ‘Cause I am black. I love my nose.”
